Palo Alto Network’s 6th Annual Application Usage and Risk Report Highlights P2P Dangers

Palo Alto Networks recently published its 6th annual Application Usage and Risk Report.  The report, like years past, highlights many of the dangers we are used to reading about on this blog.  The dangers of P2P and other File Sharing applications continue to run wild in organizations… Though use of social media sites like Facebook is higher, the risk to the organization that P2P File Sharing applications bring dwarfs other risks.  Viruses, Data Breaches, and Identity Theft are just a few examples of the harms lurking in the world of P2P Networks.

Using a free tool like Peer2Peer Terminator by MaaS360 is just one way to combat these threats.  Enterprises must start with Visibility into their environment… determining IF dangerous apps exist in the first place.
